Hamilton Wellbeing Day for Women with Cancer
Hamilton Wellbeing Day – Friday 21st February 2025
Hamilton’s Wellbeing Day brought together local women who have experienced cancer for a day of relaxation, self-care, information and connection. BSWRICS, and Western District Health Service supported Counterpart to host this fantastic event held at the Hamilton Base Hospital Education Centre.
The day began with a chair yoga session led by Deb Dohney from the 3301 Tarrington Wellbeing Centre.
Following morning tea, Jodie Nelson from Western District Health Service provided valuable insights into using nutrition to support recovery, manage treatment side effects, and improve overall well-being during and after cancer treatment.
After a nourishing lunch, Stacey Barns from My Crafternoons guided attendees through doodling flowers and foliage in a fun and relaxing crafternoon.
Throughout the day, informative displays from the Thursday Girls Group and the Icon Cancer Centre offered additional resources and support.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated volunteers, Glenda and Helen, for their invaluable assistance.
Most importantly, we are grateful to all the incredible women who participated, bringing warmth and openness to the day.
