Aquatic and Recreation Victoria Industry Gala Awards

GRICS, Latrobe Community Health Services and Latrobe Leisure have won a Community Impact Award at the Aquatic and Recreation Victoria Industry Gala Awards. The Exercise and Cancer pilot program supports cancer patients enabling them a pathway to participation in exercise. Participants attend Latrobe Leisure Morwell, where they have an initial assessment with an Exercise Physiologist (EP) and receive a prescriptive exercise program. They have the option to attend the EP and Fitness Team supported exercise group, home exercise or one-on-one sessions.

Feedback received about the pilot so far has been very positive regarding the healthcare supported program outside of a healthcare facility.
