Support Regional Collaboration with Care Coordination

GRICS, in partnership with The Writing Room, led a six-month initiative to strengthen cancer care coordination across Gippsland. Guided by the Gippsland Cancer Services Plan (2022–2027), the project explored the potential for a regional/repatriation care coordination role and identified service gaps through surveys, consultations, and a regional workshop. A Gippsland Integrated Cancer Care Coordination model of care has been developed and is now being proposed to key stakeholders. It aims to define dedicated roles and standardise care coordination across diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up—supporting more equitable, timely, and high-quality cancer care for all Gippsland patients.
