Allied health strategy and roadmap, AWRCC
The aim of this project was to define centre-wide strategy and actionable roadmap for allied health services for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre (AWRCC).
Project redesign methodology was utilised within this project including diagnostic strategies to identify the current state and solution design to formulate future road map. The project engaged stakeholders internal and external to the AWRCC; quantitative and qualitative methods (including staff survey, in-depth interviews and process mapping) identified the current state of allied health delivery.
Through the facilitation of a Solution Storming Session, and recommendations from an external Health Economics Consultant, the future state of allied health delivery and provision was designed.
A final report has been endorsed by a Steering Committee and includes 34 recommendations to improve flow and efficiency of allied health services through a centre-wide plan, including review of processes for referral and triage and shared resourcing strategies.
This work was supported by an HRICS service improvement grant.
