Gap analysis of post-treatment/survivorship phase for head and neck cancer patients receiving radiation therapy
SMICS provided support to understand the current state and identify service delivery gaps in the post-treatment/survivorship phase for Head and Neck cancer patients receiving radiation therapy at Peter Mac Moorabbin. Data collection methods included: process mapping; clinician interviews; a supportive care audit; current practice conditions as measured against the Victorian Quality Cancer Survivorship Care Framework; and a patient survey.
Findings and recommendations from this project have established achievable short-term opportunities for improvement and provide a clearer focus on longer term goals that can be prioritised and implemented.
