Key performance indicators and summary data for the oncology governance meeting

Purpose

To support development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards used in the joint oncology governance meetings at Kerang District Health, Kyneton and Swan Hill District Health Services – all of which have outreach clinics from the Bendigo Regional Cancer Centre (BRCC).

What we did

LMICS contributed to the development of KPIs and the dashboards.

Outputs

A set of performance indicators was developed collaboratively to measure the volume of inpatient, and outpatient activities and the quality of specific service processes. Power BI Dashboard was the mechanism used for information sharing and better visualisation. The indicators were discussed in the site-specific governance meetings held in 2021.

Impacts

Regular performance monitoring using these indicators is helping to improve the quality of the services offered in regional areas.
