Review of the Capability Framework for Victorian Children’s Cancer Services
In 2023, PICS led a review of the 2014 Capability Framework for Victorian Children’s Cancer Services and current literature informing best practice.
The review was undertaken in collaboration with the cancer services at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, the Peter MacCallum Centre, regional health services, and the Victorian Department of Health.
The Capability Framework for Victorian Children’s Cancer Services provides evidence-based, minimum standards for cancer care in children and adolescents. It underpins and informs the service agreements between the tertiary cancer services at Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s Hospital, as well as 9 participating regional health services across Victoria that provide shared cancer care to children. This work was facilitated by PICS within our Regional Outreach and Shared Care Program.
