Cancer Awareness, Support & Early Detection (CASED) Project

Undertaken by Rural Northwest Health staff the project aim was to raise awareness on the most prevalent cancers

GICS awarded a service improvement grant to Rural Northwest Health to undertake this project in response to reduced survival and higher presentation of patients with more advanced stages of disease at diagnosis, this project aimed to enhance cancer awareness and early detection in Yarriambiack Shire by conducting 6-8 community workshops over the next year.

Additionally, it aimed to strengthen community transport services, promote screening and establish a local cancer support group, improve telehealth pathways and install digital billboard displays in high traffic areas to sustainably communicate cancer-related information.

This project was completed in October 2024.
