This video has been developed by PICS, Victoria’s Paediatric Integrated Cancer Service.
PICS has developed a series of e-learning modules for health professionals on survivorship and the importance of long-term follow-up for children and adolescents following treatment for cancer.
The video below describes potential late complications that may follow radiotherapy treatment for childhood cancer, including:
- neurocognitive impairments
- other effects on the brain
- second malignancies
- increased risk of breast cancer
- long-term side effects of radiation.
