Barwon South Western Regional Integrated Cancer Service (BSWRICS) is a partnership of 19 member services, serving people affected by cancer in 9 Local Government Areas in Victoria’s southwest.

BSWRICS is one of 9 partnerships that make up the Victorian Integrated Cancer Services (VICS), Victoria’s cancer service improvement network.

Our work is guided by a Governance Committee and Clinical Advisory Group comprising of representatives from our 19 member services.

We work with health services and consumers to promote coordinated planning, system integration, and improvement of cancer services across the Barwon South Western region.

BSWRICS in partnership with the BSW Health Service Partnership agreed to support the scoping and establishment of cancer care at home, or closer to home, at some health services.

Prostate cancer awareness in Geelong and Warrnambool

A collaboration between BSWRICS and the Geelong and Warrnambool Prostate Support Groups secured 2 of 13 national $5,000 seeding grants.

Strengthening Regional Cancer Centres

BSWRICS worked with 2 Regional Cancer Centres to create independent service plans that address the needs of each local community whilst ensuring an overarching regional approach.
