Become a consumer representative with the VICS

If you have been affected by cancer, as a patient or carer, you probably know what worked well for you and what could have been better.

You can share your experiences and perspectives to help improve services and health care for others.

How can I contribute?

There are different ways you can choose to participate, for example:

  • receive newsletters about cancer care, events and opportunities
  • attend an educational event
  • participate in a survey
  • reflect on and share your cancer experience
  • review and provide feedback on written patient information
  • participate in a focus group about a service or new project
  • join a committee with other consumers and health workers.

All roles are voluntary and use your experiences and perspectives. You do not need any specific expertise. You can pause or stop your involvement at any time.

Click the links to the right to learn about opportunities to contribute within different parts of the VICS, or contact your local Integrated Cancer Service (ICS).
